If a customer wishes to make the lab a live installation HFR can manage the process. An HFR managed installation will require the following:

The purpose of a site visit by a HFR project engineer is to evaluate the existing conditions and the lab needs at the school. Charges for a site visit are:

Visit to gather requirements will cost the facility $250 plus expenses.
Expenses all travel, motel, and $60 per day meals.

The site visit determines:

The installation location of the source equipment (air compressor and     vacuum pump) required making the headwalls live.
Available electrical power for the source equipment and headwalls.
Accessibility and piping run layouts.
Dimensional check of the available headwall space.
Meet with facility staff to explore services for the electrical and mechanical    system. Identify conditions for moving and storing equipment in the building.
Estimated time to gather information from facility staff-six hours.

The customer should define the space and location of the lab. This can be accomplished either through a floor plan drawing or through a sketch of the area detailing the lab bed areas and available wall space.

Installation contractors:

Are there mechanical /electrical contractors the facility wants us to deal with? The facility should supply a    contractors list to allow us to gather installations times and cost.
HFR will also gather pricing from other contractors so the facility has comparisons to select from.
Develop scope of work for the project (a detailed description of what is required to install the system).    The scope of work is sent to the list of installing contractors and a cost proposal for installation is     developed for the facility.
Facility responsible for all permits, taxes, professional engineering stamped drawings and state     approvals if applicable.
HFR can also supervising the installation of equipment at a cost of $100 per hour plus expenses.    Estimates of hours for supervision to be established after contractor’s price estimates are made    available.

Delivery
HFR will need to know the date expectations and a contact we can work with to coordinate a smooth delivery, making sure that people are available to meet and unload the truck.

Most products are shipped by an independent trucking line that we feel have experience in delivering hospital furniture and hospital products. Small items such as accessories or used training equipment may ship by UPS or the best value carrier.

Items are packaged and loaded in trucks to avoid any damage to the units. With products such as beds please test the units to make sure they have not been damaged in transit by plugging them in and working each option.

Please make sure that a plan exists to take equipment, especially beds, up to the lab area.

Items such as headwalls may have to be stored until installation, if a contractor is used this should be considered part of his job and can be coordinated with HFR.
